Following the official kickoff of technical rehearsals last week, Disney’s hotly anticipated new Broadway musical “Frozen” is in full gear at downtown’s Buell Theatre.
Disney has been exclusively camped out in the space, which is undergoing minor renovations, since May. But bringing the musical’s stars — Caissie Levy (as Elsa) and Patti Murin (as Anna) — to town ramped things up significantly.
Now the musical’s hosts at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts have released 3,000 new tickets for the show, which debuts to the public this month. The move comes after producers “were able to evaluate the sightlines from the theater seats. As a result, more than 3,000 new seats have been released for the upcoming seven-week engagement, Aug. 17-Oct. 1,” according to a DCPA press statement.
The 3,000 new seats are in addition to the 25,000 tickets currently available at . (DCPA officials say that weeknight performances have the best availability.)

After running “Frozen” in Denver for seven weeks, producers plan to open the finished version on Broadway in spring 2018 at the St. James Theatre, where it will join Disney Theatrical’s other Broadway shows “The Lion King” and “Aladdin.”
