A Greeley car dealer now faces 166 counts of theft in connection with organized crime and illegal business practices.

The charges come after Noman Boroumand, 45, the owner of the former 1st Choice Motors in west Greeley, . The Weld District Attorney’s office on Friday filed the additional charges, which include violations of the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act, theft, forgery, tax evasion, filing a false tax return and computer crimes. Prosecutors believe Boroumand’s elaborate schemes began in January 2013 and lasted until the state shut down the car dealership in May.

Boroumand already faces human trafficking charges after police and prosecutors say he, along with fellow Greeley used-car dealer Fares Alrashed, sexually assaulted as many as four women. Both men were indicted by a grand jury in late June.

Boroumand’s bond is now set at $4.5 million, up $1.5 million from his first case. He is next scheduled to appear in court 10:30 a.m. Aug. 22.
