Colorado Democrats on Tuesday, joined by Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez, continued their rallying cry to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, working to drum up support among their liberal base and proclaiming their battle is far from over.

“We won, but we have not finished the victory,” Perez said outside of the Colorado Capitol building in Denver, speaking to a crowd of a few dozen people holding signs. “We have won for now. And we have succeeded for now because of all of your stories.”

Perez took aim at U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner  late last month to support — also known as Obamacare. Gov. John Hickenlooper, who also spoke at the event, continued urging what he called “transpartisan” solutions to the problems with the ACA.

“This is no the time to go backwards,” he said. “This is the time to go forward. I certainly recognize, and I think almost every governor, the people who have to implement health care, will tell you that there are improvements to be made to our system. We’re not arguing that.”

Also speaking at the event before a progressives’ bus emblazoned with “Drive for our Lives,” , was Colorado Democratic Party Chair Morgan Carroll and state House Speaker Crisanta Duran, a Denver Democrat.

“What is going on in Washington, D.C., is not representative of Colorado’s values,” Duran said.

Congressional Republicans, including Gardner, have vowed to continue working to unwind Obamacare, which they say is a failed system that places exuberant costs on consumers.

“Seven years ago, when I ran for Congress, I said that I would vote to repeal and replace Obamacare, and I’m going to continue to live up to the promise that I made,” Gardner said . “The reason is: The Affordable Care Act isn’t working.”
