Burglars crashed a vehicle into the entrance of Cabela’s in Lone Tree and stole numerous valuable guns early Thursday morning, authorities say.

At 12:58 a.m. Thursday, the smash-and-grab burglars slammed a car into the front, east-side entrance of the enormous building at 10670 Cabela Drive.

They ran into the store and quickly snatched, said Denisse Coffman, Lone Tree city spokeswoman.

“We don’t know that exact number of guns that were taken,” Coffman said. “We are aware that this has happened at multiple locations around the state.”

This was the first burglary of its kind in which thieves into a Lone Tree store and stole guns, she said.

Burglars have often used stolen vehicles to crash into gun stores and pawn shops for easy access and a quick escape.
