One of Denver’s largest Halloween attractions is getting even bigger.
The 13th Floor is moving to a new, larger location at 3400 East 52nd Ave., just a mile from the previous spooks, for the 2017 season.
The new space is said to be 10,000 square feet larger with improved parking and a larger waiting area, according to a release.
Tye Olmsted, senior general manager of the 13th Floor, said via email that while the lease happened to be up at the old location, that wasn’t the only reason for the move.
“We’d outgrown the old location and needed to find a larger facility to continue growing the event,” he said. “We’ve been planning this move for more than a year. We began physically moving right after last season ended.”
With a new location come new frights.
The larger space will allow terror-seekers to have a longer experience with larger scenes, Olmsted added.
One feature of the new space is higher ceilings, allowing taller sets and — look out below — —more spots for monsters to scare you from.
“[The move] gives us the opportunity to really create something completely new and really push the limits of what we can do,” Olmsted added. “Not only does our new location allow us to expand the size of the attractions inside of our building, but we now have a space that allows us to really create an experience outside of our building that our guests can experience before they enter the 13th Floor.”
