LAKEWOOD — U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner held his third in-person, solo town hall of the day Tuesday afternoon — his first such events in more than a year — ending a day of hostile voter questions across the Front Range.
The Republican senator from Colorado appeared earlier in and , where rowdy constituents pressed him on everything from health care and North Korea to immigration and President Donald Trump.
EARLIER: ,
Activists have been targeting Gardner for months for failing to hold solo, in-person town halls in Colorado since the spring of 2016. Attendees at the earlier events did not hold back on their questions, or anger, toward the first-term senator from Yuma.
A Colorado Christian University spokesman said that while Gardner’s event was public, protesters weren’t going to be allowed to demonstrate on campus.
Gardner’s staff says the Lakewood venue has a capacity for up to 1,200 people — much larger than where he met with constituents in Colorado Springs and Greeley.
Already quite the line formed, about 45 minutes until doors open. Expected to be his largest / loudest crowd today.
