Along the U.S. 36 corridor, from Interlocken north to Foothills Parkway, Google’s new campus is only one of the high-profile expansions drawing new jobs to Boulder County. From 2010 to 2015 the county added jobs three times as fast as it created new homes, according to a new report from Apartment List. But CalAtlantic Homes can show you attractive solutions to that problem at Compass in Erie, nine miles east of Boulder on Arapahoe Road.
For buyers that have been looking in Boulder, where the median price of a single-family resale now tops $900,000, CalAtlantic has big-family designs that redouble their low prices with a big value on new-home space and features. This weekend, you can tour CalAtlantic’s four models from two collections priced from the mid-$400s, including a 5C03 plan — almost 3,200 square feet of finished space plus basement and a three-car tandem garage. If you like what you see, CalAtlantic has a version of the home — four bedrooms, 3-1/2 baths, two-sided fireplace and a covered patio — at $635,674.
That home is ready now — timed for your kids to get an early start at Boulder Valley’s new Meadowlark PK-through-8 School in Erie. The new school opened this week, five minutes from CalAtlantic’s models.
“Itap no surprise the we’re seeing so many buyers in Erie who’ve arrived from Texas, Florida and California,” says Dan Nickless, Colorado division president for CalAtlantic Homes. “They get the full picture of how much value you get here as opposed to older neighborhoods closer to U.S. 36.”
You could alternatively purchase a five-bedroom 5C04 plan, with a full three-car garage that has a separate carriage bay for a show car, at $673,469, also ready now. On either home set to go, you’ll see lots of window space, nine-foot ceilings both upstairs and down, stainless appliances, maple cabinets and slab granite tops in the kitchen as well as master bath. And CalAtlantic has an additional incentive available to reduce the price if you use the builder’s preferred lender for financing.
And if you’re looking for something single-level, CalAtlantic has five ranch plans at Compass to choose from. If you have some time before needing to move, ask about CalAtlantic’s new 6000s Series arriving at Compass, with homes set to deliver in 2018 — including sites that back to Boulder County Open Space. Compass’ setting along the west side of County Line Road just north of Arapahoe Road has a bike trail corridor passing directly east, and provides good access to the town of Erie’s recreation center and library, and to a new King Soopers now open on Baseline Road/Highway 7.
Nickless adds that Compass makes for an easy commute, either into Boulder’s high-tech campuses, 15 minutes directly west on Arapahoe Road, or to Interlocken/Flatiron Crossing, 10 miles south. To reach from Denver, take I-25 north past the 470 Northwest Parkway interchange to Exit 229 (Hwy 7/Lafayette); head west four miles to County Line, and turn north a mile, just past Arapahoe Road to Compass Parkway. To reach from central Boulder, take Arapahoe Road east past Foothills Parkway, eight miles to County Line Road and turn north a block.
