VDARE founder blames “communist propaganda” for Colorado Springs event cancellation

VDARE leader Peter Brimelow blamed a Colorado Springs resort’s decision to cancel the group’s April 2018 event on “typical lying communist propaganda, connived at by the Establishment Left” and said the group may still come to the state next year.

“If it hadn’t been Charlottesville, they would find some other excuse,” Brimelow told Colorado Politics in an e-mail exchange Thursday.

After the Aug. 12 violence in Charlottesville, Va., Colorado Springs officials and residents took a closer look at VDARE, an anti-immigration with ties to the Charlottesville rally’s white nationalist organizer.

The VDARE Foundation, is not among the 16 Colorado hate groups listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center in Alabama. The VDARE Foundation, however, is listed as a hate group in Virginia.
