Thief stalks target through Walmart. A woman shopping at Walmart, 3301 Tower Road, reported that someone stole her purse while she was looking away Aug. 2. The victim said a stranger wearing big sunglasses and a scarf over her head was following her around the store, but never picked out anything. Video surveillance confirmed that as soon as the woman set down her purse, the stranger popped out from around the corner, picked it up and left the store.
Bathroom drug user throws tantrum. The manager of Barnes and Noble, 170 S. Abilene St., called police Aug. 10 because someone was using drugs in the bathroom. When the manager told the suspect to leave, he said the man ripped off a toilet seat. The suspect was gone before officers arrived.
Rude welcoming. Employees at Bank of the West, 700 S. Abilene St., found a pile of trash and smashed walkway lights when they arrived at work Aug. 9. It appeared people hanging out there overnight left two backpacks and a trail of clothes on the ground near the entrance of the building.
Electronics looter. A woman called police to her home in the 15800 block of East 13th Place because someone broke out her bedroom window while she was at work, went inside her apartment and stole two iPhones and an Apple laptop Aug. 6. There are no suspects.
Swiped wallet. Someone took a man’s wallet after he accidentally left it in his shopping cart before leaving Walmart, 14000 E. Exposition Ave., Aug. 3.
