A spill on Interstate 70 at Colorado Boulevard has the westbound lanes shut down for a cleanup.

The hazardous material team with the Denver Fire Department is working to clean and remove 125 gallons of concrete sealer that was spilled on the highway inadvertently, according to the fire department.

Drivers should expect long delays and avoid the area if possible. The spill happened about 2 p.m.. No crash was involved in the incident. One person was taken to a local hospital because of “exposure” to the spilled material, the fire department said.

One westbound lane reopened at about 3:40 p.m. All lanes reopened at about 5:40 p.m., according to Denver police.
