At a moment when new production homes on the tiniest sites have crept up into the mid-$400,000 range, there are still places where you can build a new ranch on a site that offers serious elbow room, for about that same price. G.J. Gardner Homes’ Bill Anner will show you one of those at Pelican Lake Ranch in Platteville, 39 minutes up I-25 from 120th Avenue.

Anner has a design center on West 120th Avenue at Tejon in Westminster, open weekdays, where you can work out the particulars on plans and features, including on Anner’s spec home at Pelican Lake, while you still have flexibility to personalize it.
