A sign marking a stretch of Colo. 66 north of Longmont as the Trooper Taylor Thyfault Memorial Highway will be unveiled in a Monday afternoon ceremony.

Then-Colorado State Patrol Cadet Thyfault died after being struck by a fleeing vehicle during a May 23, 2015, high-speed chase on Colo. 66 near East County Line Road.

Thyfault was posthumously promoted to state trooper status, and the Colorado Legislature adopted a resolution last April naming a segment of the highway between North 75th Street and U.S. 287 in his honor.

A stretch of Colo. 66 will be closed to both eastbound and westbound traffic for the 4 p.m. Monday ceremony and is expected to reopen at 4:30 p.m.
