Chipotle partnered with Uncharted Food Access to donate 50 percent of sales across Colorado on Aug. 31 to the program when customers mention “Uncharted.”

The program supports 10 startups working to tackle food insecurity for low-income Denver families. One in six Denver households live in low-income areas without access to fresh food.

Denver-based Chipotle hosts thousands of similar store-level fundraisers across the nation throughout the year, spokesman Chris Arnold said. It also does about six statewide fundraisers a year.

Recent fundraisers have gone toward Denver Dumb Friends League, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Special Olympics of Colorado. Coming up fundraisers include Susan G. Komen and the Alzheimer’s Association.

The fundraiser for Uncharted Food Access is Thursday from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. at all Chipotle restaurants in Colorado.

Uncharted, , recently moved to Denver from Boulder. The group helps entrepreneurs turn ideas into social change.
