Adams County Crime Blotter: Road rage motorist harasses woman, follows her into parking lot

Road rage. Officers were dispatched July 8 to 16000 block of Washington St., Thornton. A woman driving westbound on Hwy 7 exited the road after a man aggressively tailgated and brake checked her, according to a police report. The man followed her into a parking lot, where he confronted her and yelled profanities. She started to record the incident on her phone, when the man smacked it out of her hand and left the scene. Police charged the man with disorderly conduct and destroying property.

Domino crash. A car following too closely behind other vehicles caused an accident July 7 in the 8600 block of I-25, Thornton on July 7. Four cars sustained minimal to moderate damages after the first car pushed the second into two other vehicles, according to a police report. The driver responsible for the crash fled the scene.

DUI hit-and-run. Officers were dispatched July 7 to the 2000 block of E. 120th Ave., Thornton after a hit-and-run accident. According to a police report, the driver of the car was driving erratically and speeding as much as 55 mph over the speed limit. The woman behind the wheel was heavily intoxicated, and police charged her with a DUI, reckless and careless driving, a hit-and-run and speeding.

Elementary crime. Police responded to a call July 6 about damaged property at Central Elementary School, 6450 Holly St., Commerce City. A district maintenance employee found $400 worth of damages to 20 sprinkler heads and a water line. There was no security camera footage and no suspects, according to a police report.
