Emails sent to the Boulder City Council — sometimes hundreds in a week — will automatically be made available to the public every Tuesday by noon.
The emails will be posted under a new tab on the council’s landing page at , city spokeswoman Sarah Huntley said.
Messages that are sent to council@bouldercolorado.gov or to individual council members and responses from city staff will be included. Correspondence between council members or from council members to citizens will not be posted, although they, too, are matters of public record that can be requested under the Colorado Open Records Act.
The posted messages can be searched by date received, keyword, topic and author. The program began this week.
