Millions of dollars worth of illegal drugs, thousands in cash and several firearms were recovered during a multiweek investigation into a drug trafficking organization in Colorado Springs and Denver, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.
The Metro Vice Narcotics and Intelligence Unit seized 10.78 pounds of heroin, which authorities say has a street value of about $2.4 million; 38.35 pounds of methamphetamine, with a street value of about $6.3 million; as well as 51 grams of heroin and 2 grams of cocaine, the Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities also recovered several firearms and $24,000 in cash.
