Two firefighter helmets were stolen from a Thornton fire station and the contemptible thefts were realized on the morning of 9/11.Two firefighter helmets were stolen from a Thornton fire station and the contemptible thefts were realized on the morning of 9/11.
The thefts happened at Fire Station 1, 9451 Dorothy Blvd., according to the department.
Stolen, off of hooks inside a station bay, were a captain’s helmet and the on duty battalion chief’s helmet. The pair of all-leather, custom-ordered helmets are valued together at more than $1,000.
The captain and chief have been borrowing helmets from other firefighters to go on calls.
