A prominent downtown Denver hotel is getting a new name and new management following a multi-year, $27-million renovation.
is expected to morph into the Hilton Denver City Center Dec. 1, owner announced last week.
“We appreciate the years of service by our Marriott friends and partners; however, we are happy to welcome Hilton into our hotel,” Chesapeake CEO James L. Francis said in a news release.
The 613-room hotel, located at 1701 California St. is coming off an all-encompassing, three-year face lift, according to the property owner.
“Our strategic plans in Denver began several years ago when we began a transformational renovation of all public areas, food and beverage facilities and every guestroom and bathroom,” Francis said in the release.
The hotel occupies the first 20 floors of the 43-story City Center building, among the largest mixed-use structures in Denver. Chesapeake touted the hotel’s proximity to the Colorado Convention Center .
