Drunk pizza man. A man was swerving through lanes, and officers stopped him in a parking lot at 1884 S Wadsworth Blvd. on Sept. 7. Police asked the man if he had been drinking, and he said he just left his job at a Black Jack Pizza. Officers found receipts from a strip club and a bottle of Canadian Mist Whiskey in his car. The man was taken into custody.
Caught up in lies. Officers observed a possible drug deal on Sept. 7. The officers followed one of the people involved in the alleged drug exchange and stopped him at 1650 Harlan St. The man told police his name, but it didn’t show up on a record check. He provided a social security number and it came back as a different name than the one he provided. The man had a warrant for his arrest.
Church in the morning. Officers stopped a jay walker on Sept. 9 and learned he had a warrant for his arrest. The man then began to run through a parking lot at 5201 W. Colfax Ave. An officer pulled out his taser gun and told the man to stop. The man dropped to the ground and screamed “I give up!” The man said he ran away because he had church in the morning. He was taken into custody at the Jefferson County Jail.
Damaged belongings. On Sept. 5 a woman called police to her apartment at 1460 Lamar St. The woman said her girlfriend sent her a text message of her belt cut in pieces. Other belongings to the woman were missing, or damaged, including her bicycle and her rats. The woman’s girlfriend was detained for criminal mischief.
