Treat yo’ self thieves. A man said he left his car doors unlocked while he loaded and unloaded work materials at a construction site Sept. 9. At some point he noticed his wallet was missing from the center console of his vehicle, according to a police report. His credit card was later used to rent movies at a Redbox and buy nearly $50 of food at a Sonic Drive-in, police say. There are no leads or suspects.

A boy and his bike. Officers were dispatched Sept. 11 to the 14000 block of Montview Boulevard. A woman reported her son’s bike was stolen from in front of their home, according to a police report. This was allegedly the third time it had been stolen. While police gathered more information, another child in the neighborhood came forward to say he knew where to find the missing bike. Officers found the bike in a neighboring backyard. The child who lived there claimed the bike was given to him by a friend, and he had no idea it was stolen. The mother did not press charges.

Denny’s-and-dash. Officers were dispatched Sept. 11 to Denny’s, 1505 S. Havana St. Four teenage customers were given a bill of nearly $75 before allegedly fleeing from the restaurant without paying, according to a police report. Employees did not know how to access the security footage. There are no leads or suspects.

Car theft. On Aug. 23, a man parked his car near his workplace, First Choice Boat & RV Service, 805 Salida Way. He said left the vehicle locked and parked on the street behind an abandoned trailer. When he returned later, the car was missing, according to a police reports
