Adams County officials held a grand opening Thursday for the 315,000-square-foot Pete Mirelez Human Service Center in Westminster.
More than 1,500 guests and employees gathered for the ceremony, which marks the official launch of the new center at 11860 Pecos St.
The new facility, which , brings nearly 800 employees serving more than 500 residents daily to a more centralized location in 500,000-population Adams County. Operations for the department used to be spread across five buildings.
The new center had been under development for four years.
