The Colorado State Patrol said it understands the temptation to cross over the solid line that separates the Express Lane from the others, but please refrain. If you do cross that line, a ticket may be coming your way.
The state patrol has stepped up its enforcement of the U.S. 36 and Interstate 25 express lane corridors with the help of the Colorado Department of Transportation, Plenary Roads Denver and High Performance Transportation Enterprise.
Since July, troopers have issued close to 900 traffic violations that range from speeding and failing to pay tolls to unsafely crossing in and out of the Express Lanes. Citations can range from $150 to $1,000. From July to August, overall citations on those two highways dropped.
“Letap work together to keep everyone safe and everyone arriving alive whether they are going home, to work or to play,” Colorado State Patrol Captain Matthew Secor said in a statement.
