The annual Columbus Day parade will make its way around Denver’s Civic Center Saturday, closing some roads for up to an hour.
The parade will start at 11 a.m., according to the Denver’s event website. The parade will stage at West 14th Avenue and Bannock Street before making its way down 15th Street, turning right on Welton Street, right on 17th Street and then right on Broadway.
The parade will pause in front of the State Capitol where a presidential proclamation will be read.
The parade after a 10-year hiatus, caused by that led to arrests.
In 2016, the Denver City Council — which had never officially recognized Columbus Day — on the second Monday in October.
