Colorado State University has established a and his family.

Max’s daughter, Rachael, died early Sunday morning during a fire at the family’s home in southwest Fort Collins. The house also endured extensive fire and smoke damage.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss suffered by Doug Max and his family,” Colorado State athletic director Joe Parker said in a release. “Our attention at this time is focused on providing comfort and support for their many needs, and serving them in all the ways we can. We send our heartfelt condolences for their loss, and to ask that they be comforted by the love, support and prayers from our Ram family and the community. Doug and Cindy, and their family, are treasured members of the CSU and Fort Collins communities, and they are overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of support they are receiving.”
