TD Ameritrade trims staff in Westminister as reorganization begins following Scottrade acquisition

As part of a company-wide reorganization, TD Ameritrade is laying off employees at multiple locations, including 32 people at a facility in Westminster.

The Westminster site — at 10955 Westmoor Dr., Suite 105 — is a former Scottrade office. Ameritrade just completed its last month.

It’s unclear if other brokerage offices in Colorado will be impacted in the reorganization, but in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing with the state’s labor department, TD Ameritrade said that the Westminster job cuts go into effect Dec. 20 and “this action is part of a wider company reorganization and employees in multiple locations will be affected.”

Scottrade opened its operations center in Westminster in 2010 and announced plans to hire 285 people over five years. The company had purchased the four-story, 204,000-square-foot Westmoor building in late 2009, .

It’s unclear whether any Scottrade or Ameritrade operations will still exist in the building after the layoffs. TD Ameritrade officials could not be reached for comment late Wednesday.

In a , Scottrade President Peter deSilva said that Scottrade clients accounts will transition to TD Ameritrade by early 2018. Earlier in the month, deSilva as its president of retail distribution.
