Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a house fire and the shooting death of a man at the Parker home, officials say.

The Douglas County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim, authorities say. The deceased suspect was the only one inside the home in the 6100 block of Westview Circle in Parker when shots were fired and deputies did not fire their weapons, said Lauren LeKander, Douglas County sheriff’s spokeswoman. None of the deputies were struck by bullets, she said.
After deputies arrived at the scene, shots were fired inside the home, LeKander said.
At that point, SWAT team officers were called and neighbors were alerted and asked to shelter in place, she said.
