The victim and his girlfriend had gone to the motel to drink and smoke methamphetamine when House and Ocampo got into an argument and a fistfight, the DA’s office said in a news release. During the fight inside a room, Ocampo pulled out a handgun and put it to House’s head.

House and his girlfriend left the room and were in the parking lot when Ocampo and Kenneth Bastidos, 31, came out of the room and got into a Jeep Cherokee. They drove by House and his girlfriend and Ocampo, who was sitting in the Jeep passenger seat, fired at House multiple times.

Ocampo was in Lakewood.

Sentencing has been scheduled for Nov. 15 in Adams County District Court.

Bastidos previously pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 9.
