A 49-year-old man was sentenced Thursday to 24 years to life in prison for luring a child from a swimming pool to his nearby apartment, where he sexually assaulted the girl.
Moises Godoy was sentenced by Adams County District Judge Thomas Ensor to 24 years for kidnapping, 16 years to life for aggravated sexual assault on a child and six years to life for
enticement of a child. The sentences will be served concurrently.
The kidnapping and assault happened in July 2016 at an apartment complex at 1769 Coronado Parkway, in Thornton. Another girl who was at the pool told investigators Godoy had been asking children there if they needed and also asked several children if they wanted to see his pet duck. Godoy used the ploy to entice the victim to his apartment.
Godoy was of the felony charges in August.
On Thursday Ensor also ruled that Godoy have no contact with children.
