KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A week ago Broncos coach remained adamant was and would remain the Broncos’ starting quarterback, despite a string of turnovers and a pair of “embarrassing” losses. Siemian was his guy, he said then, so he never considered making a switch.

Joseph’s tune was different Monday night, following his team’s five turnovers and the Broncos’ third consecutive loss. After praising his team’s defense and running game, Joseph said, “It all falls back to turning the ball over five times. That’s insane.”

Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian (13) looks out at the jumbotron in the final second of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 30, 2017 in Kansas City, MO at Arrowhead Stadium. Trevor Siemian threw 3 int's in the game.

Asked why he didn’t make a switch in-game and insert for Siemian, who threw three interceptions, Joseph said the Broncos remained in the game in the third quarter, drawing within 20-13, and he believed it was the right call to stick with Siemian.

“At halftime we’re in the game still. He’s our starting quarterback. Late in the third quarter it’s 20-13, so we’re back in the football game, so to go back with our quarterback in my opinion was the right decision,” Joseph said. “Obviously it didn’t end well, but we’re in the game. Even with three or four turnovers, we’re in the football game. I stayed with Trevor because he’s our guy and he’s worked all week.”

Osweiler never removed his parka during the game and , who came off the injury list for the first time this season, was inactive. Though Lynch resumed practice last week, Joseph it it’s “not fair to the guy” to bring him back so soon.

Joseph wouldn’t say definitively if he will make a change at quarterback for next Sunday’s game at Philadelphia if he’s unsatisfied once he looks at game film.

“I’m not sure,” he said. “But losing three games in a row and having five turnovers tonight, anything’s possible.”
