An off-duty Denver police officer shot an alleged intruder Friday afternoon after the suspect broke into the officer’s Littleton home, Denver 7 reports. The suspected intruder was taken to a hospital but was declared dead a few hours later.
Littleton police responded to the home in the 6200 block of South Spotswood Street at 4:35 p.m. and immediately set up a perimeter in the neighborhood.
Denver7 reports the off-duty police officer was asleep in the basement but awoke to someone breaking-in to his home. The from the base of the stairs.
The suspected intruder was taken to a hospital. Further details of his condition were not released. The suspect was not identified Friday.
