Two key players from the trade last week figure to play prominent roles Thursday when the Avalanche resumes play and hosts the at the .

Defenseman Samuel Girard, 19, who made his Colorado debut and played both games last weekend in Sweden against the , again practiced with on the top pairing Wednesday. And forward Vladislav Kamenev, 21, is centering a line with Sven Andrighetto and Russian countryman Nail Yakupov after being recalled from the American Hockey League on Tuesday.

Kamenev had four assists in four games for the AHL San Antonio Rampage.

In related moves, the Avs reassigned forwards A.J. Greer and Rocco Grimaldi to San Antonio.

Footnote. Forward Tyson Jost is back to 100 percent after recovering from his second lower-body injury. Jost played on the Avs’ “fifth” line Wednesday with journeyman Gabriel Bourque.
