Colorado State wide receiver is one of three finalists for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to college football’s top pass catcher, it was announced Monday.
Through Week 12, Gallup — a senior from Monroe, Ga., who transferred to CSU from Butler (Kan.) Community College in 2016 — is the Football Bowl Subdivision leader in receiving yards (1,345) and receptions of 10 or more yards (56). He is second in receiving yards per game (112.1) and fourth in receptions per game (7.8).
Gallup is joined by James Washington (Oklahoma State) and David Sills (West Virginia). A Big 12 receiver has won the Biletnikoff Award six times over the past 10 seasons. This marks the second time in four years CSU has featured a Biletnikoff finalist. Rashard Higgins lost out to Alabama’s Amari Cooper in 2014.
The 2017 winner will be announced Dec. 7 during ESPN’s broadcast of “The Home Depot College Football Awards Show.”
