Teenager shot in Aurora on Monday taken to hospital in critical condition

A teenager is in critical condition after being shot in Aurora late in the afternoon on Monday.

The shooting happened at about 5:15 p.m. in the 400 block of South Kalispell Way, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Officers responding to the scene found the 18-year-old victim who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, police said. The identity of the victim, a male, was not released.

Investigators were working Monday night to determine a motive in the shooting. Information on a suspect was not released. Police said there is no threat to the general public stemming from the incident.
