Deadline to seek position of new Jefferson County commissioner is Dec. 12

Commissioner Don Rosier will step down from his post in January

Republicans interested in serving out the remainder of Jefferson County Commissioner Don Rosier’s term after he steps down from his post in January have until Dec. 12 to apply.

To be eligible for the position, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age and a registered Republican and must have been a resident of the county’s southern District 3 for the past year. A vacancy committee of the Jefferson County Republicans will choose a successor to Rosier.

To apply, candidates should fill out  and submit a resume by 6 p.m. Dec. 12. In-person interviews will be held at the Jefferson County Republican headquarters in Lakewood, and a finalist should be named by the end of the year.

Rosier effective early January to take a position as general manager of the Sterling Ranch Community Authority Board in Douglas County.

Rosier, who was elected commissioner in 2010 and re-elected in 2014, is term-limited next November.
