A second suspect has been arrested in connection to an early morning incident in which shots were fired at a Thornton police officer.
Jaime Allan Herrera, 22, of Denver, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer, police said Friday on Twitter.

Police said Herrera was the driver of stolen truck from which shots were fired at a pursuing officer at about 3 a.m. Thursday. He is also suspected of aggravated motor vehicle theft and felony eluding.
Cesar Alexis Pinedo, 20, of Denver, in the case. The stolen 1999 Ford F-250 crashed in Denver’s Montbello neighborhood after the driver, allegedly Herrera, fled Thornton police in the area of West 88th Avenue and Santa Fe Drive.
An investigation is ongoing.
