A 26-year-old armed college student was arrested Tuesday in Fort Collins after an “interaction” with a faculty member outside a classroom.

Brittany Schoonover, a student at Front Range Community College, 4616 S. Shields St., was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, possession of a weapon on property of an educational facility, interference of an educational facility and false imprisonment, according to police.

The faculty member was “able to disarm” Schoonover, police said in a news release.

No one was injured in the incident. Police said there is no ongoing threat to the campus or community.

Schoonover is being held at the Larimer County jail.
