White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders speaks to the media on Tuesday. After President Donald Trump tweeted that Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., "would do anything" for campaign contributions, Sanders told reporters that “there is no way that this is sexist at all,” and suggested the tweet could be considered sexually charged “only if your mind is in the gutter.”

Re: “,” Dec. 12 news story.

I’m sorry, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, but a double entendre is intended to convey more than one interpretation, with one usually risqué (verging on impropriety or indecency). In defending Donald Trump’s tweet about Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Sanders would have us believe that he was so naive as not to recognize the thinly veiled message he was conveying. Letap give credit where credit is due. Trump knowingly cast a derogative sexual innuendo. Sanders disrespects the office she serves and the public by trying to obfuscate Trump’s insulting personal attack on a rival legislator behind the veneer of plausible deniability.
