Suspected shoplifter fires shot as he is chased from Cherry Creek Nordstrom store

No one was injured by the gunfire

Denver Police are looking for a pair of suspected shoplifters, one of whom allegedly fired a gun as he was chased from the Nordstrom store at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center Sunday evening.

According to a Denver Crime Stoppers bulletin, the man was being chased by a Nordstrom security officer. When the chase spilled out into the parking lot north of the department store, the suspect allegedly fired a gun a the security officer. No one was hit.

The suspects drove away from the shopping center in a dark-colored Kia Spectra around 7:30 p.m.

Because of the alleged shooting, the case is being investigated as an armed robbery, a Denver Police spokesman said Monday afternoon.

The male suspect is described as a Hispanic man between the ages of 18 and 21. He was wearing a black coat, black pants and red shoes. His hair was tied in two buns. He was with a Hispanic female who was wearing a gray coat and blue jeans.
