A trailer in Weld County exploded Monday night and two people were taken to a hospital.

The explosion, in the 7800 block of Weld County Road 21, sparked a fire injuring the men, ages 70 and 20, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office. Both men are described as being in “stable condition.”

A cause of the explosion and fire, west of Fort Lupton, was not immediately released. The incident, which happened about 8 p.m., is under investigation.

Teresa Anderson, who owns the nearby B Bold Ranch RV Park and Storage, told The Associated Press she heard “a big boom, one big boom” just after 8 p.m. The trailer was fully engulfed in flames when deputies arrived.
