Climber who died in 60-foot fall near Cañon City identified

Andrew Biebuyck, 27, was not breathing when he was found in The Bank climbing area

The rock climber who died Saturday in a 60-foot fall in a climbing area near Red Canyon Road has been identified as 27-year-old Andrew Biebuyck.

The Pueblo man was in The Bank climbing area north of Cañon City when he fell near a feature known as the Piggy Bank. He was not breathing when he was found.

Fremont County Sheriff’s Sgt. Megan Richards said Biebuyck was pronounced dead at the scene.

Richards said Biebuyck was originally from Virginia but was living in the Pueblo area for work.
