WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Broncos on Saturday announced receivers Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) and Cody Latimer (thigh) were downgraded to out for the team’s Week 16 game against the Redskins and did not travel with the team to Washington.
Sanders has been playing with an ankle injury he suffered in Week 6 against the New York Giants. He did not practice Wednesday or Thursday this week and was limited Friday.
Latimer was limited the first two days of practice this week and sat out Friday’s jog-through.
The loss of Sanders and Latimer, the Broncos’ No. 2 and No. 3 receivers, means Bennie Fowler and Jordan Taylor will see increased time, and Isaiah McKenzie will likely be active. McKenzie had been down the past few games after losing his starting punt-returning job to Taylor.
