I realize that you could fill the paper daily with the latest outrages from the Trump White House, but on Friday you absolutely buried two stories in the “Briefs” section.

In one extremely short item, you reported that the president “directed his White House counsel to urge Attorney General Jeff Sessions to not recuse himself” from the Russia investigation. Wow!  Another blatant example of Donald Trump attempting to obstruct justice and undermine the (increasingly shaky) rule of law in our country.

In another item, you devoted one whole sentence to note that Trump’s lawyers have sent a “cease and desist” letter in an attempt to stop publication of the new book detailing the chaos and incompetence of the administration’s first year. Legal threats were a commonly used tactic by Trump the private citizen, but they are even more outrageous coming from the highest-profile public figure in the nation.
