Avalanche goaltender was named the NHL’s second star of the week after leading Colorado to a 3-0-0 record.
Bernier compiled a 1.60 goals-against average with a .957 save percentage in wins over Winnipeg, Columbus and Minnesota. Against the Blue Jackets, he recorded 34 saves to earn his 16th career shutout.
On the season, the 29-year-old Bernier has a 9-7-1 record, 2.88 GAA and .909 save percentage.
Boston’s Patrice Bergeron earned the first star and Penguins’ Sidney Crosby was the third star.
The Avs last played Saturday, a 7-2 win over the Wild. Their next game will be on Saturday in Dallas against the Stars.
