Longmont police are looking for a man they allege struck a police officer who was attempting to arrest the man on warrants on Friday.

Deputy Chief Jeff Satur said the officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries but was taken to Longmont United Hospital.

Satur said the officer responded to a disturbance near Eighth Avenue and Main Street at about 5 p.m. and recognized 47-year-old Richard Jeffs as having an arrest warrant. When the officer attempted to question Jeffs, Satur said Jeffs ran to an Audi, backed out of a parking space and struck the officer.
