The easy-going snowboarder with the backyard terrain park didn’t shed a drop of angst over the demanding push to reach PyeongChang. With a Zen-like focus on fun, friends and snowy adventures, the spry 17-year-old Gerard casually spun and stomped some of snowboarding’s most exacting tricks at Breckenridge and Snowmass to qualify for the second-ever Olympic snowboarding slopestyle contest and first-ever big air showdown. He’s the youngest Olympian from Colorado.
