Schleper is a product of Ski & Snowboard Club Vail and was a four-time Olympian for the U.S. (1998-2010) who will be the flag bearer for Mexico in the PyeongChang opening ceremonies. Her best Olympic finish was 10th in slalom in 2006. Her husband is a native of Mexico, and she received dual citizenship in 2014. She competed for Mexico at the world championships in 2015 and 2017. She blew out a knee last June and has only back on skis for only a month or so. She competed in two World Cup races last month, failing to qualify for the second run in both. She will race only GS in these Olympics.
