A road rage incident turned into a shooting in Littleton Wednesday morning.

Littleton police responded to a call from the victim around 5 a.m. She had exchanged words and gestures with people in an “older, dark-colored Volkswagen sedan, possibly a Jetta or Passat” prior to the shooting at South Santa Fe Drive and West Belleview Avenue, according to Cmdr. Trent Cooper with the Littleton Police Department.

A passenger in the sedan fired toward the victim’s driver’s side door as the car drove southbound on Santa Fe Drive. Some of the windows in the victim’s car were shot out, but no injuries were reported.

The vehicle was possibly occupied by at least three suspects, with a female in the front passenger seat, according to Littleton Police Department news release.
