
Arapahoe High School announced Rod Sherman as its new head football coach Friday afternoon.
Sherman, who resigned from Valor Christian on Dec. 22, was 57-11 in five seasons with the Eagles while winning three Class 5A state championships.
He takes over for Mike Campbell, who took the Englewood job in January following a 15-year stint with the Warriors, in a program that’s posted one winning season over the last four.
Thus, it will be a unique challenge for Sherman to succeed with the Warriors, who will be tested consistently in the newly formed Metro East League this fall alongside , , Grandview, Overland and defending state runner-up Eaglecrest.
Prior to taking over as head coach at , Sherman was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator and athletic director, the same posts he held at Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.) before coming to Colorado.
