A 20-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he brought a handgun to the University of Denver’s Centennial Halls, according to the Denver Police Department.
Stefan El Baze is being held on charges related to the unlawful carrying of a weapon on university grounds and the possession of a controlled substance. He does not have a prior arrest, according to records from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
El Baze was taken away from campus by an ambulance due to an unrelated medical issue, according to DU.
The university sent out two emails to students on Tuesday, telling them there was no threat to the community. No lockdown was issued.
