Class 5A Boys

No. 2 Chaparral 92, No. 6 Regis Jesuit 91 in double overtime on Wednesday: In a back-and-forth affair, the Wolverines (19-4) outlasted the Raiders (18-5) in a game where coach Tellus Truesdale’s crew Chaparral’s become known for, but were still able to erase a six-point fourth quarter deficit in Parker.

No. 1 ThunderRidge 78, No. 3 Rock Canyon 71 in overtime on Friday: Senior point guard Kaison Hammonds poured in 22 points while senior guard Joey Rumbaugh chipped in 14 points as the Grizzlies (22-1) secured the Continental League title with the defeat of the Jaguars (21-2), who were paced by a game-high 27 points from senior guard Tyson Gilbert.

Class 4A Boys

No. 8 Falcon 67, Discovery Canyon 59 on Friday: The Falcons (18-5) flashed balance once again in the Pikes Peak League matchup, with four scorers in double figures in the victory over the Thunder (10-13). Senior Noah Martinez led the way with a game-high 22 points, while senior Reece Warren had 17 points and senior Brendan LaRose nabbed 10 rebounds.

Skyline 56, No. 1 Longmont 47 on Saturday: In a non-conference stunner to close the regular season, took down the top-ranked Trojans (21-2) to snap Longmont’s 20-game winning streak. An 18-point fourth quarter helped senior point guard Brayden Blick and Skyline seal the road victory for the underdogs.

Class 5A Girls

No. 7 Lakewood 83, Dakota Ridge 31 on Thursday: The Tigers (20-3) made a statement against the Eagles (14-9), who are a playoff sleeper in their own right. Senior forward and Yale commit Camilla Emsbo led all scorers with 16 points, while sophomore sparkplug guard Nadia Trevizo had 15.

Legend 47, Ponderosa 28 on Friday: The Continental League battle between the Parker rivals meant much more to the Titans (13-10) than just city bragging rights considering they’re ranked 31st in the latest RPI. Junior Kassie Rembisz led Legend with a dozen points as well as six rebounds against the Mustangs (9-14).

Class 4A Girls

No. 4 Evergreen 69, No. 8 Golden 67 in triple overtime on Thursday: Neither team wanted to lose the dramatic Jeffco League finale, but it was the defending state champion Cougars (21-2) who capitalized on clutch guard play by senior point guard Kristina Schreiber, as she poured in 29 points in addition to six assists to fend off multiple comebacks by the Demons (19-4).

No. 10 Thomas Jefferson 65, Denver South 57 on Friday: The Spartans (21-2) closed out Denver Prep League play with a hard-fought win over the Rebels (13-10) thanks to double-doubles by junior center Kharial Clark (18 points, 13 rebounds) and senior power forward Zoya Robbins (13 points, 15 rebounds). Junior Daija Robbins also had 13 points.
